BECOMING MORE CHRISTLIKE THROUGH LIFE’S CHALLENGES
The silversmith watches the metal, prepared to take it out at just the right moment. Too much heat will damage the precious work. God is the divine silversmith. When we are burdened, broken, and in need, God reminds us we are not alone. He watches over us and He knows when enough is enough.
Do you know how the silversmith knows the refining process is complete? He must be able to clearly see his reflection in the molten metal. We sometimes find ourselves in a place we believe is too difficult. The intense heat seems to be too much to bear, but God is paying close attention. His work will be done when He can see His reflection in us.
I hope the rest of your week is fantastic. If you haven’t responded to Heather’s email from last week regarding your contact information, please do so as soon as possible as she is attempting to get the list finalized this week. Take care and I look forward to seeing you Sunday!!

Something to think about.......by Priscilla Shirer As Christians, we have built-in meters to gauge our behavior. The Holy Spirit works in us, urging us to check our actions against what we know is right. When we get off track, we may experience guilt or even suffer consequences. But when our lives align with God's plan, we find peace. In Exodus 33:13-15 Moses requested, "Lord, teach me your ways." Then he said, "Please, Lord, don't make us go without You." God's response to Moses: "My presence will go with you. I will give you rest." Peace results from God's presence in our lives. Peace brings rest, tranquility, assuredness, security, and safety. When we experience the lack of quiet rest, we need to ask if our hearts may be sensing the absence of God's presence or approval. Take care and I hope the rest of your week goes well. I look forward to seeing you Sunday. Kendall

What a great Sunday at our church. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Thanks to everyone that helped out with the breakfast, and welcome to those who joined us this week!
There is a special kick-off to children’s choir, Mission Friends, GA’s and RA’s party this Wednesday, August 13th, starting at 6:00 in the grassy area between the CAC and the children’s center. They will have inflatables and snow cones for the children. Usually a nice fun, but extremely hot night for everyone!…dinner will also be served as usual starting at 4:45.
Children’s choir starts this Sunday, August 17th, at 6:00.

Many believers have become satisfied with a mediocre Christian existence that sits on the sidelines while those we consider more spiritual have a relationship with God. This shouldn’t satisfy us. God wants us to hear His voice, understand and obey.
Could our inability to hear God have less to do with His desire to speak and more to do with our lack of preparedness to hear? The Lord speaks clearly, but those most likely to hear are those who have correctly positioned themselves. While we are waiting on God to do His part, He could be waiting on us to do ours!
